TALES FROM GLASTONBURY...

hello everyone,

just wanted to drop a quick line to say THANK YOU for all of your support at glastonbury this weekend. we had a massively good time.
personally, i have never stayed the weekend at glastonbury, it was my first full-on 3 day adventure there.... and there were too many highlights to mention.

i will give it a shot, but i am TIRED. friday night we played around 6:45 on the john peel stage. loved it. after it was a trauma trying to get through the mud with bags and bags of shit... but that goes for everyone. (i don't do mud, or carrying heavy things too well, haha) but once we were settled, the festivities kicked off. i don't believe there was a single moment on friday night when i wasn't laughing. did a little karaoke with beth ditto and nathan from the gossip. err...and that may be my last semi-solid memory before saturday morning. woke up and decided it would be a good idea to go to the healing field to get healed... massaged. me and my friend got massaged by a witch.
when we came to, my friends shirt had shrunk to a child's size and her voice was gone...there is no way i can explain how or why... but i managed to laugh for so long that i think i have eternally bruised my rib-cage.

we watched the raconteurs and they were on fire. jack can do no wrong.
then amy winehouse played the most to die for set ive ever seen. ive been waiting forever to get the chance to see her, and she absolutely killed it. i loved every minute. then jay-z... went over and above the call of duty and proved himself to be (despite all the nonsense bitching about him being there) a true glastonbury headliner. totally totally amazing, intelligent and eloquent and cool. he owned it.

at this point my friend with the shrunken shirt started to notice that her boots were also shrinking. all attempts to sleep were ruined by waking myself up over and over with the giggles.

sunday morning was lovely. i petted lots of horses and one of them tried to eat my hair while i was watching neil diamond. that's pretty much the end. the rest is a lovely and particularly funny...blur.
but im happy i stayed till nearly the bitter end...

LAST DAY OF MAGIC POSTCARDS - THANK YOU!!!

hello everyone,

i would like to send a huge thanks to all of you who submitted postcard art to us. It was extremely difficult to narrow the winners of this competition down to 4 cards.

i could easily have chosen 5 times that many. It's wonderful and inspiring to see how talented our fans are. not that i didn't know this already, but man, some of your drawings and paintings and photographs are really really outstanding. i feel excited to see what you are doing.

thank you so much for all of your submissions. we really appreciate that you took the time to put something together for this. and we wish you all the best with all your artistic endeavors. big big thanks.

IGGY POP

nothing more vital or more stimulating then a title like that?
read on.

we're leaving london to head for oxford to play a lost show...
remember we were supposed to play there some months back but our schedule was out of control? the traveling circus had to take a breath and make soup and sleep. sometimes this happens.
i try to keep my apologies rather limited.

afterwards, we head to dublin to play with iggy pop at the modern museum of art there, on the 16th (june) and i'm too excited to write in a straight line.
it should be a night to remember.

in other news, we've recently done a few radio shows, and a tv...
le grande journal in paris where we played last day of magic and got stuck in an elevator with collin pharel. and we played the black sessions, and also le mouv. upon our return to london, yesterday we spoke to jonathan ross and played last day of magic for him, and before that, another radio thing too... but i was so tired i was having a little dream until i opened my mouth to sing... OH YEah, and we did a little gig at rough trade east, where upon our drum machine became possessed or oppressed or rather, an air of electronic self importance swept through it's mechanic soul, and it refused to work properly and vomited all over the gig. oh man, and before that we spent a wonderful 6 hours at abbey road studios filming for Live At Abbey Road, which was such an honor and so much fun. big kiss to all that worked on the show, there were so many of you!

also, i'm a little behind on my the america story. the third encore is in my mind, but not written down for you yet. and if i get the chance to tell you about it, it will be up here eventually. otherwise, the future is full of enough for us all....

and i'm still spitting fire about loosing a great roll of film in nashville. has anyone seen it?

ROUGH TRADE EAST - INSTORE... THURSDAY 12TH JUNE X

so we're playing a special instore in Rough Trade East next Thursday, that's the 12th June. gonna have some special guest DJs, and loads of free stuff for you, as well as free beer, which is always cool.

we'll also have a special Kills wall up in the shop from monday, and like with the compeition on the site www.midnightboom.com, we wanna get you to put up your Last Day of Magic pictures / posters / anything you like really. so get down to the shop and start posting things up there from monday, or you can do it at the instore. remeber to put your name and email / mobile number on the back. three winners get sepcial signed framed artwork prints things and other bits.

so how do you get to come to this instore???

get down to the shop and pick up a wristband. hurry though, as word is they're goin pretty quickly. first come first served.
